My first encounter with Blondie's Europe tour took place in Hamburg, Germany, at the Freikurburg Festival in 1970. I remember thinking how ridiculous it was that two old blonde ladies, who looked more like models than old ladies, should be at an internationally-acclaimed festival. Of course I have since read many videos and researched events in Europe, and although there are plenty of blonde grannies in Europe, they are nowhere near as numerous as the Eurotrash population. However I think it is funny that the same people who made fun of Blondie and promoted a lifestyle and image they mock and despise, are now promoting a fashion style that promotes posh, Gothic chic and a little bit of rebelliousness, which is exactly what Blondie represented back in those days..
